Food:

We always strive for the best health of our pack. The first thing we look for in dog or cat food is MEAT as the first ingredient. We also like grain free, high in protein, and low in carbs, while keeping price in mind.

For our pups, they eat Taste of the Wild, Pacific Stream.

We usually opt for a fish/salmon flavor because not only do the dogs love it, fish has added omega-3 and oils that help their skin and coats. They are very thrifty eaters and will eat about half a cup in the morning and a full cup at night.

For Rosie and her fellow feline friends, they eat a combination of dry and wet cat food. For kibble, they have Wellness Dry Cat Food. For wet food, they have Wellness Signature Selects.

 

Our cats are on the smaller side, so to keep a healthy weight on them, they get 1/4 cup of dry food or half a can of wet cat food per feeding. Wellness is a great grain free brand high in protein and low in carbs and fats. It’s perfect for indoor cats!

Treats:

Rosie is usually extremely picky with treats and will turn her nose up at most. But her absolute favorite treat is Bonito Flakes!

We buy quality human grade bonito flakes that are unsalted or flavored. Rosie also loves that the pieces are extra large! These are the only treats Rosie will work for, and using them, we were able to teach her multiple tricks!

The pups love any and all treats that they can get their paws on. Of their favorites, Whimzees would rank at the top.

Whimzees are all natural, gluten free, and made from potato starch. They don’t last very long, but they’ll never turn their nose up at this treat!

A treat we like to use for training is the Nutro Crunchy Training Treats.

Nutro treats are 100% natural and come in all kinds of yummy flavors and textures that your dog will love. Our personal favorite flavor is the mixed berry flavor. They also have such a nice aroma, it’s tempting not to taste one ourselves!

At the end of every night, just as we brush our teeth, we also brush the pup’s teeth. We use Petrodex Enzymatic Dog Toothpaste in a poultry flavor, which they LOVE! It helps keep dog breath low and their teeth sparking clean.

For Rosie, it is too hard to brush her teeth, so instead, we use a water additive (for the dogs as well as the cats). The Nylabone Advanced Oral Care is added to their drinking water for fresh breath!

It is advertised for dogs, but is also safe for cats. The green tea extract fights bacteria and helps improve plaque and tartar build up. They also don’t mind the flavor as opposed to a mint flavor, so we all win!
