We raise our pack in our beautiful hometown of San Jose, California. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, it’s a big city, with a small town feel. Everyone knows everyone around here! We love taking the pack to the overwhelmingly large amount of pet friendly places in the city. This list of pet friendly places is your guide to taking your furry friends with you while you’re out and about!

Our favorite place to shop is Santana Row! It’s an outdoor shopping center that consists of dog friendly restaurants and stores. Most restaurants have outdoor seating that accommodates pets well. The stores are generally dog friendly, as long as your dog is well behaved. Just to be sure, we usually have a friend run into the store and ask politely before entering with our pack. Now for our favorite places!
The Counter is our favorite place to eat at Santana Row! They are always super nice about accommodating our pets and even provide bowls of water for them as we dine. There is indoor seating as well for those without pets. The restaurant itself allows you to custom build your own burgers or salads on a short worksheet (pencils provided). The outdoor heating lamps provide warmth in the evenings, if you choose to go there for dinner.
If you’re looking for dessert after your meal, Cocola Bakery, Smitten Ice Cream, Pinkberry, and Kara’s Cupcakes all have dog friendly, outdoor seating. Can you tell we love dessert?

Another pet friendly area that we frequent is Downtown Willow Glen! It’s a lovely little shopping and eating area that boasts cute boutiques, small businesses, and the best eateries!
When we’re there for Sunday brunch, Bill’s Cafe is our go to spot! They have a few locations in San Jose, but this one is the best. Please note that it gets pretty busy here on Sundays, so arrive early!
For dessert, our absolute favorite place is Willow Glen Creamery, because they always give us complimentary plain frozen yogurt for our dogs! The employees are very kind and give the most generous scoops of the creamiest ice cream around! Grab your frozen treats and enjoy them by the outdoor fountain, it’s literally the perfect thing to do with your pets on a Sunday afternoon!
After that, you can walk up and down Lincoln Street for more pet friendly places! Unleashed and Gussied Up Dog Boutique are the pet stores located on Lincoln Street if you’re looking for new gear, treats, and toys for your pets.

Rosie enjoys walking around pet stores, so we frequent a lot of them in San Jose! Her favorite one is Pet Club, she loves going there to watch the birds and the fishes. Rosie also comes here to buy crickets for her pet frog, Fred! If you’re looking for affordable pet items, such as puppy pads, food, and toys in San Jose, visit this place! There’s a good chance you’ll run into Rosie roaming the aisles and perusing the sales section.
